Yes I have referred to this section. The light blinks white, indicating it does not have a proper USB connection. Also my computer does not recognize the device when using a type C to type C cable. Coverted to comment, here the referred link to your response: Amazon Product link. Hello gatelyjm , Thanks for posting this question on this forum,. When paired with a laptop you can take your capture set up on the go without need for wired power.
A must-have for on location shooting. The Azure Kinect requires more power than a Type-A cable can provide and may cause low performance if you do not pair it with the external power supply. Not all USB cables are created equally. It is recommended to us an active USB cable, meaning one that can maintain the data transmission with the help of a semiconductor chip to increase cable performance.
Cables without this chip are considered passive, and should not be used if the cable is longer than a 1. We recommend the following:. Cable Matters active USB 3. Monoprice USB 2. Hello gatelyjm ,Just checking back, could you please let us know if you need further help in this matter.

The only reason it may not is that MS have made the Kinect end a proprietry connection. The thing is, if they did that everyone would have to buy the official MS Kinect extension cables. Wait a minute Earlyflash Well-known Member. I'm not sure that anyone knows just yet.
Sheesh MS. Earlyflash said:. Click to expand The Cable carries carries both the data signal and power supply for the Kinect Camera. DJSigma Banned. I agree, but these are the only 'official' cables. They are still stupidly expensive. A standard USB should work for just signal, but as I said no-one really knows as yet. I know it has a seperate power suplly, but it may still pull some via this route.
Actually, you're spot on there. If it does pull power via the cable then 10m is way too long. What about using USB signal repeaters to make a cable longer than 5 meters? A: Don't bother. The best solution is self-powered hub with a fixed 10m cable that had a one-port bus powered hub in the middle. The maximum range will still have to deal with the timeout, so any out of spec tweaking of the terminations between the two hubs and the timing budget still won't yield more than 5cm of extra distance.
A better solution is described in the following question. Yeah I have extended USB mad long distances with active extenders and the odd powered hub along the way to give it a boost. Should be ok with the kinect but its not something I have been that excited about to take interest.
As a peripheral theres no reason why it shouldn't work. Does anybody think my solution might work or would I have to use the hub? Its active USB extension cables you need. You will generally find them in 5 metre lengths and they are labelled as being ok to daisy chain for a length of 20 metres totally.
